S. Hayakawa’s research lies at the compelling intersection of human-robot interaction and autonomous robotics, with a particular focus on the subtle, non-verbal cues that underpin communication. Their most notable contribution is the pioneering development of an “eye-contact robot,” a head robot capable of establishing mutual gaze with humans.
