Qianfeng Yin is pioneering the next generation of smart soft materials, with a focus on shape-morphing hydrogels and switchable adhesives. His most celebrated work, "Shape Morphing of Hydrogels in Alternating Magnetic Field" (2019, 160 citations), introduced a non-contact, biocompatible method for controlling hydrogel deformation—a breakthrough with profound implications for soft robotics and biomedical engineering.
