About
Peijian Zhang is a rising researcher in the fields of flexible electronics and advanced composite materials, with a focus on developing next-generation sensors and smart materials. His most notable contribution is the design of a graphene-based flexible pressure sensor featuring a fabric-like groove structure, which enables high-resolution tactile imaging—a breakthrough for applications in wearable technology, robotics, and human-machine interfaces. This work has garnered significant attention, accumulating 27 citations since its 2024 publication. Zhang also explores the frontiers of soft materials, as demonstrated by his 2025 study on dimensionally stable thermal-stiffening composite hydrogels. By incorporating thermo-responsive SiO₂ hybrid nanoparticles, he has engineered hydrogels that can reversibly stiffen under heat, offering new possibilities for adaptive structures and biomedical devices. Although early in his career, Zhang’s innovative approaches to sensor design and responsive materials have already established him as a promising voice in materials science, with his research bridging fundamental chemistry and practical device engineering.
