About
Oliver Friedrich is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of open-source engineering and biomedical cell culture automation. His work focuses on democratizing high-throughput screening and 3D cell culture through low-cost, customizable hardware solutions. Friedrich’s most impactful contribution is his 2016 guide to building an inexpensive 3D-printed motorized positioning stage for automated high-content screening microscopy, which has garnered 39 citations and is accompanied by a time-lapse video demonstrating its operation. This work empowers labs with limited budgets to conduct automated imaging of recombinant HEK293 cells.
