About

Minghui Fan is a rising innovator in the fields of smart materials, flexible electronics, and self-powered sensing systems. Their research focuses on developing advanced micro- and nanofiber-based actuators and electronic skins (e-skins) that can perceive and respond to complex environmental stimuli. Fan’s major contributions include the creation of a mechano-photothermal cooperative microfiber film (MFF) actuator, which enables programmable, hot-pressing-controlled responses for dynamic electromagnetic radiation (EMR) detection—a critical advancement for safeguarding against ubiquitous EMR hazards. Additionally, Fan engineered a robust all-fabric e-skin that maintains high sensitivity and durability under extreme temperatures and corrosive conditions, offering a self-powered tactile sensing solution for wearable and industrial applications. With their most cited works from 2024 already garnering 22 and 19 citations respectively, Fan’s impact is rapidly growing. Their work stands out for integrating multifunctional responsiveness with practical resilience, paving the way for next-generation smart textiles and environmental monitoring systems.
