Matteo Ottaviani is a leading figure in the remote sensing of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans, with a primary focus on polarimetric measurements and aerosol retrieval. His work is critical for improving satellite-based observations of our planet. A major contribution is his research on the information content of aerosol retrievals, particularly in the challenging sunglint region, where sunlight reflects off the water surface.
