About

Mary C. Farach-Carson is a distinguished biomedical researcher whose work lies at the intersection of extracellular matrix biology, cancer metastasis, and tissue engineering. She is best known for her pioneering contributions to understanding the role of the perlecan/HSPG2 proteoglycan in bone and prostate cancer biology, particularly how the tumor microenvironment influences metastatic progression. Her research has fundamentally shaped our understanding of how heparan sulfate proteoglycans regulate cell signaling, angiogenesis, and tumor-stromal interactions.
