M. Bagaglia is an instrumental figure in the advancement of infrared astronomy, with a career focused on developing cutting-edge observational facilities for extreme environments. His primary research areas include the design and construction of ground-based infrared telescopes and high-speed optical instrumentation for transient astrophysical phenomena.
