Luke D. Ziemba is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol properties, air quality, and the interactions between aerosols, clouds, and precipitation. A key contributor to NASA’s Earth science missions, Ziemba has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of how aerosols impact climate and visibility. His most influential work is the evaluation of the MERRA-2 Aerosol Reanalysis (2017, 929 citations), a landmark study that validated NASA’s modern reanalysis of global aerosol distributions from 1980 onward.
