Linyong Zhu is a leading researcher in the field of stimuli-responsive soft materials, with a primary focus on peptide self-assembly and liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) for advanced actuator technologies. Zhu’s major contributions include pioneering the design of peptide-based hydrogels that exhibit both actuation and shape memory behaviors, enabling reversible deformation in response to external triggers—a breakthrough for applications in soft robotics, smart sensors, and artificial muscles.
