About
Lihua Zou is a rising leader in advanced functional materials and flexible electronics, with a focus on developing next-generation wearable sensors and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding technologies. Her work masterfully combines structural engineering with material innovation to create devices that are both highly performant and practically deployable. In a landmark 2025 study, Zou engineered a bi-ordered porous structure of graphene and iron nanowires, achieving exceptional EMI shielding alongside hydrophobicity and multifunctional sensing—a design that has already garnered 20 citations for its elegant solution to integrating disparate properties. She further advanced the field with the development of an ultrathin elastomer nanofiber-based skin-like electronic device, capable of multi-mode sensing (pressure, strain, temperature) while maintaining mechanical compliance.
