About

Lan Yue Zhang is a leading innovator in the field of biomimetic and self-healing polymer materials, with a focused expertise in developing advanced hydrogels for implantable and wearable biomedical applications. Her most impactful work addresses a critical challenge in the field: enabling repeatable, intrinsic self-healing of large-scale wounds in synthetic materials. In her highly cited 2020 study, Zhang pioneered a proof-of-concept approach using a polymer hydrogel that achieves rapid volume expansion through host-guest interactions.
