Jiuyang Zhang is a leading innovator in the field of soft materials, with a research focus on liquid metals, self-healing hydrogels, and functional polymer composites for next-generation flexible electronics. His work centers on engineering materials that combine mechanical toughness, electrical conductivity, and dynamic responsiveness—key properties for applications in wearable sensors, soft robotics, and smart actuators. Zhang’s major contributions include the development of a conductive, self-healing double network hydrogel with exceptional toughness and force sensitivity (56 citations), and the creation of an ultrasensitive soft sensor using anisotropic conductive biphasic liquid metal-polymer gels (48 citations).
