About

Inhwan Wee is a roboticist at the forefront of autonomous systems designed for the world’s most extreme environments. His primary research focuses on field robotics, multi-modal mobility, and resilient autonomy for subterranean and unstructured settings. Wee’s most significant contributions stem from his integral role in TEAM CoSTAR during the DARPA Subterranean Challenge. He co-authored the team’s landmark 2021 paper, “NeBula: Quest for Robotic Autonomy in Challenging Environments” (105 citations), which detailed the algorithms and hardware that enabled robots to navigate GPS-denied tunnels and urban ruins.
