About

Ikuo Takeuchi is a pioneering figure in robotics and artificial intelligence, best known for his foundational contributions to humanoid robotics and disaster response systems. As a key contributor to Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) HRP project, he helped develop the humanoid robotics platform that became a cornerstone for subsequent research in human-robot interaction and real-world applications.
