About

Dr. Hongzan Song is a leading innovator in the field of stretchable ionotronics and smart materials, whose work is redefining the boundaries of wearable sensors and human-machine interfaces. His research masterfully integrates polymer chemistry and materials engineering to create multifunctional, biomimetic skins. Dr. Song’s most impactful contribution is the development of an ultrastretchable, adhesive, and self-healable ionic skin (I-Skin), detailed in his highly cited 2021 paper (99 citations). This hybrid network ionogel can be 3D printed and exhibits photoluminescence, directly mimicking the complex sensations of human skin for advanced wearable applications.
