About
Eric Saunders is a leading figure in the development of intelligent, autonomous systems for modern astronomy, particularly in the era of massive time-domain surveys. His primary research focuses on creating the software infrastructure and agent-based technologies needed to manage and optimize heterogeneous telescope networks. Saunders’s most significant contribution is his work on general-purpose software for managing astronomical observing programs in the LSST era, a highly cited paper (35 citations) that addresses the monumental challenge of filtering 10 million nightly alerts from the Vera C.
