Emi Tamaki is a robotics and human-computer interaction researcher whose work spans high-speed robotic imitation, wearable sensing, and assistive technologies. Tamaki's early work focused on dexterous robotic systems, most notably the "Copycat Hand" — a robot hand capable of imitating human hand postures at high speed and with high accuracy using a novel self-organizing image clustering method.
