About

E. Hawkins is a leading figure in time-domain astrophysics, specializing in the design and operation of global robotic telescope networks for studying transient astronomical phenomena. Their most significant contribution is pioneering the infrastructure for automated, continuous monitoring of the sky, most notably through the development of the RoboNet‐II project. This work, which has garnered over 100 citations, demonstrated the power of a coordinated network of 2-meter robotic telescopes across three continents to perform rapid follow-up observations of microlensing events in the Galactic Bulge, enabling the detection of exoplanets and stellar-mass black holes.
