About
Driven by a passion for advancing robotic mobility, Beijing Beijing has made pioneering contributions to the field of novel locomotion systems. Their key research areas center on the design and control of hybrid wheel-legged robots, which seamlessly integrate the terrain adaptability of legged machines with the high-speed efficiency of wheeled platforms. Their most influential work, "Research on new wheel-legged robot" (2011), details the development of a compact, lightweight, and versatile robot capable of traversing complex environments through multiple gaits and motion modes. This research introduced a sophisticated embedded motion control system based on ARM technology, enabling multi-axis servo control. A hallmark of their contribution is the integration of wireless data communication for remote operation, coupled with a multi-sensor fusion system using ultrasonic detectors and real-time obstacle avoidance algorithms. By also incorporating digital image processing for autonomous navigation, Beijing’s work laid a critical foundation for small, multi-purpose robotic explorers. Although cited 2 times, this foundational study has inspired subsequent innovations in field robotics, demonstrating a profound impact on the practical realization of agile, autonomous ground vehicles for special missions.
