About
Antonella Boselli is a leading atmospheric physicist specializing in aerosol remote sensing, with a particular focus on the vertical profiling of atmospheric particles using lidar and radiometer synergies. Her most significant contribution is the development of the Lidar-Radiometer Inversion Code (LIRIC), a groundbreaking algorithm that enables the simultaneous processing of lidar and sun photometric data to retrieve high-resolution vertical aerosol concentration profiles. This work, published in 2016 and cited over 139 times, has become a cornerstone methodology within the European Aerosol Research Lidar Network (EARLINET), facilitating standardized aerosol characterization across the continent. Boselli has also advanced the understanding of long-range aerosol transport, as demonstrated in her study of a moderate Saharan dust event affecting southern Europe during the ADRIMED/ChArMEx campaign.
