About
Abhay Kohok is a key figure in the advancement of cost-effective, high-precision adaptive optics (AO) for ground-based astronomy. His primary research focuses on the design and development of robotic AO systems, with a major contribution being the realization of a visible and near-infrared AO system for the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) 2-meter telescope. This work builds upon the pioneering Robo-AO framework, the first fully robotic, autonomous laser-guided AO system to operate in the sky.
