Dr. Tetsu Koike is a leading figure in deep-sea robotics and marine resource exploration, specializing in the autonomous survey of cobalt-rich manganese crusts (Mn-crusts). His work directly addresses the challenge of mapping vast, inaccessible seafloor deposits critical for modern battery technologies.
