Shaoqing Xu is a leading researcher at the intersection of robotics and millimeter-wave (mmWave) wireless networking, whose work is pioneering the use of mobile robots to solve fundamental challenges in high-frequency communication. His primary research areas include robotic mmWave network optimization, environment mapping, and beam alignment. Xu’s major contribution lies in demonstrating how robots can actively navigate and adapt to the highly directional nature of mmWave signals, which are notoriously sensitive to orientation and motion.
