About
Mengyuan Yue is a rising leader in the field of chiral luminescent nanomaterials and soft bioinspired sensors. Her research focuses on the design and application of smart, multiresponsive materials that bridge the gap between supramolecular chemistry and soft robotics. Yue’s most notable contribution is the development of tunable chiral luminescent nanogels that achieve dynamic multiresponses through supramolecular chirality transfer. This work, published in 2025 and already garnering 7 citations, introduces a groundbreaking platform for creating colorful, flexible emitting materials. Inspired by natural bioluminescence and chiral molecular behavior, Yue’s nanogels can function as “artificial smart eyes,” enabling advanced applications in soft displays, bionic skin, perception organs for soft robots, and human–machine dialogue interfaces. Her innovative approach to integrating chirality with responsive luminescence represents a significant step toward next-generation intelligent materials. By demonstrating how molecular-level chirality can be harnessed for macroscopic sensing and communication, Yue has established herself as a key innovator at the intersection of materials science, robotics, and bioinspired engineering. Her work promises to shape the future of adaptive, interactive soft technologies.
