About

Justin Cao is a rising researcher at the forefront of soft robotics and advanced nanomaterials. His work centers on the design and fabrication of high-performance soft actuators, with a particular focus on leveraging the unique properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials and sustainable biopolymers. In his landmark 2023 study, Cao introduced a novel class of electrothermal actuators by vertically stacking atomically thin 2D platinum ditelluride (PtTe₂) layers with nanoporous cellulose nanofibers (TOCNs).
