About

Huayu Xu is a leading researcher in the field of advanced energy harvesting and self-powered sensing systems, with a particular focus on triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) and scalable nanofiber fabrication technologies. Their most notable contribution is the development of a fully fibrous, large-area tailorable triboelectric nanogenerator (LT‑TENG) fabricated via a one-step solution blow spinning method. This work, published in 2022 and already garnering 61 citations, represents a significant breakthrough in producing flexible, wearable energy devices that are both highly efficient and industrially scalable. Xu’s innovation addresses critical challenges in the field—namely, the difficulty of manufacturing large-area, high-performance TENGs with simple, cost-effective processes. By enabling the creation of devices that are lightweight, breathable, and customizable, their research opens new avenues for self-powered sensors in healthcare, smart textiles, and the Internet of Things. Xu’s work is widely recognized for its practical impact, bridging the gap between laboratory-scale innovation and real-world application, and continues to inspire advances in sustainable energy and intelligent wearable technology.
