About
Hongchan Jeon is a rising leader in the field of soft electronics and wearable sensor technology, with a focus on creating highly deformable, skin-compatible devices. Her major contributions center on the innovative use of liquid metals—particularly eutectic gallium-indium (EGaIn)—to engineer stretchable conductors and sensors that maintain functionality under extreme mechanical strain. In her highly cited 2022 work, Jeon introduced ultrasoft and ultrastretchable wearable strain sensors with anisotropic conductivity, achieved by dispersing liquid metal fillers within an elastic polymer matrix.
