Chuansong Wu is a pioneering researcher in intelligent robotic welding systems, with a primary focus on real-time sensing, monitoring, and defect detection in gas metal arc welding (GMAW). His work addresses critical challenges in automated welding, particularly the development of systems that can detect and respond to abnormal conditions—such as incomplete penetration or burn-through—during the welding process itself.
