About

Bin Yu is a biotechnology researcher whose work sits at the critical intersection of cell line engineering and HIV vaccine development. Yu's research has focused primarily on optimizing the production of HIV envelope glycoproteins (Envs) in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell systems — a notoriously difficult challenge, as Env yields are typically 10 to 100 times lower than other pharmaceutical glycoproteins.
