Andreas L. Symeonidis is a robotics and autonomous systems researcher whose work spans robot navigation, localization, social robotics, and cloud-enabled robotic architectures. He is perhaps best known for his foundational contributions to the RAPP (Robotic Applications) paradigm, a pioneering ecosystem designed to empower older adults through socially assistive robots. His work on RAPP, documented across multiple highly cited publications from 2016 onward, introduced both variable structure control frameworks and integrated software architectures that redefined how robots can serve vulnerable populations.
