About
Aiman Haider is a prominent urological surgeon and clinical researcher whose work centers on robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), nerve-sparing surgical techniques, and prostate cancer staging. He is best known for leading the landmark NeuroSAFE PROOF trial program, a series of rigorous randomized controlled trials evaluating the NeuroSAFE technique — an intraoperative frozen section analysis that enables real-time detection of positive surgical margins, allowing surgeons to maximize nerve preservation while maintaining oncological safety. His 2025 phase 3 trial results, already accumulating 39 citations, demonstrated meaningful improvements in erectile function and urinary continence recovery, directly addressing two of the most debilitating consequences of prostate cancer surgery. With over 46 citations, his feasibility trial published in 2020 helped establish the scientific foundation for this pivotal work. Haider has also contributed significantly to surgical margin assessment innovation through the LaserSAFE technique, utilizing fluorescence confocal microscopy as a next-generation alternative to frozen section analysis. Additionally, his research on multiparametric MRI for pre-operative staging and salvage prostatectomy after focal therapy highlights the breadth of his clinical contributions. Collectively, his work is reshaping how prostate cancer surgery balances curative intent with patient quality of life.
