Eoin Dinneen is a urological surgeon and clinical researcher whose work has significantly advanced robot-assisted surgery, particularly in the treatment of localised prostate cancer. His research spans robotic surgical systems, nerve-sparing prostatectomy techniques, and intraoperative tissue assessment, with a focus on improving oncological outcomes while preserving patients' quality of life. Dinneen is perhaps best known for his central role in the NeuroSAFE PROOF programme — a landmark series of studies investigating whether real-time frozen section analysis during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) can better preserve the neurovascular bundles responsible for erectile function and urinary continence.
