About
Adeel Chaudhary is a pioneering researcher at the forefront of bioprinting and tissue engineering, whose work is revolutionizing the creation of complex, three-dimensional (3D) disease models. His primary research focuses on fabricating biomimetic microenvironments to study neurodegenerative and hematological malignancies. Chaudhary’s major contributions include the development of a functional 3D Parkinson’s disease model, where he successfully bioprinted dopaminergic neurons within a novel ultrashort self-assembling peptide scaffold. This landmark study, published in 2022 and garnering 39 citations, overcomes a critical hurdle in neural tissue engineering by providing a suitable biomaterial for neuronal complexity. In a subsequent impactful work (15 citations), he engineered a robotic multicellular bioprinting system to create a 3D bone marrow niche model for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This automated platform offers a robust preclinical tool to investigate therapy resistance and identify novel treatments, directly addressing the high relapse rates in AML. By merging advanced robotics with biomaterials science, Chaudhary is establishing new standards for in vitro modeling, offering unprecedented insights into disease mechanisms and drug screening.
