Abstract
Deals with self-organization of a mechanical structure by an autonomous distributed mechano-system. The feature of this system is to adaptively form a mechanical structure under a loading condition. We discuss two topics about the system. The first topic is a simulation method of a mechanical formation. The simulation model consists of the same mechanical elements which determine their actions by only local information. We propose a new simulation method which actively changes the topological structure for an unexpected loading condition. The second topic is about the mechanisms of group robots. We present two types of mechanisms to realize the function of structural formation in hardware.
