Abstract

Optical detection using underwater camera is an important means for underwater robot to detect submarine cables. But underwater optical images are often affected by underwater scattering and absorption characteristics, resulting in poor imaging quality and more noise interference. The images collected by the underwater robot need to be processed accordingly, and the external interference objects are automatically eliminated in order to observe the location and specific state of the submarine cable body more clearly. In this paper, an image recognition method for optical detection of underwater robot for submarine cables will be presented.
