Abstract

Through careful arrangement of local geometric features, mechanical metamaterials facilitate the development of soft robotics actuators with customizable deformations, force exertion, and mechanical energy efficiency. In article number 2300583, Mitja Trkov, Behrad Koohbor, and Nicholas Pagliocca fabricate soft robotics actuators from 3D printed perforated center-symmetric sheets. Spatial tailoring of architectural features enables hybrid motion in these components.
