Overview

uSPa 21 is a compact tactile sensor module from XELA Robotics featuring distributed 3-axis force sensing with 0.1 gram-force resolution per sensing point. Designed for soft robotic gripping, it measures normal forces and shear forces with minimal hysteresis and supports integration onto various surfaces and robot grippers via simple adhesion or screw mounting.

Key features

  • Compact 4×4 mm sensing points with 0.1 gram-force resolution
  • 3-axis distributed sensing (X, Y, Z) measuring shear and normal forces
  • Soft and robust design handles fragile objects without damage
  • 500 Hz sampling frequency with minimal wiring via CAN communication
  • Temperature and magnetic field compensation via patented technology
  • Easily integrated onto surfaces or grippers with standard or individual calibration
  • Software compatible with Windows, Linux, ROS, and ROS2
  • Calibrated to Newton with optional individual calibration add-on
  • Exchangeable sleeve design for durability and cost-effectiveness
  • 6-axis force/torque sensing with 3+ contact points
