Zhang Dong’s research bridges critical gaps in robotics and laboratory safety, with a focus on quadruped locomotion, hazardous material handling, and automated inspection systems. His most impactful work, the “Mobile Sentry Robot for Laboratory Safety Inspection Based on Machine Vision and Infrared Thermal Imaging Detection” (14 citations), pioneers a novel safety management paradigm for pharmaceutical chemistry labs—traditionally high-risk environments—by integrating machine vision and thermal imaging for autonomous hazard detection.
