Yanrong Hu is a robotics and computational intelligence researcher whose work has made significant contributions to autonomous mobile robot navigation, particularly in the domain of path planning and motion control. Hu is best known for pioneering the development of knowledge-based genetic algorithms (GAs) for robot path planning, a body of work that has accumulated considerable scholarly attention, most notably a landmark 2004 paper with nearly 300 citations that introduced problem-specific genetic operators tailored to robot navigation challenges.
