About
Yanqing Xie is a leading figure in satellite remote sensing of atmospheric parameters, with a primary focus on aerosol optical depth (AOD), dust detection, and precipitable water vapor (PWV) retrieval. Her work is distinguished by pioneering the use of geostationary satellite data—such as Himawari-8/AHI, GOES-16, and FY-4A/AGRI—to achieve high-frequency, near-global monitoring of aerosols over land, overcoming the temporal limitations of polar-orbiting sensors.
