About
Ying Li is a materials scientist and engineer whose research spans advanced hydrogel engineering, magnetic soft materials, and AI-driven materials design. Li's most celebrated contribution lies in the development of stretchable hydrogels that simultaneously achieve high stretchability, low hysteresis, and anti-fatigue fracture resistance through innovative polyprotein cross-linkers — a landmark 2020 study that has garnered over 270 citations and directly addresses critical challenges in flexible electronics, biosensors, and soft robotics. Complementing this work, Li has made significant strides in modeling hard-magnetic soft materials through the Magttice lattice framework, enabling more efficient simulation of magnetically actuated devices across robotics and biomedical applications.
