About

Xinxing Tang is an emerging robotics researcher whose work focuses on the intersection of mobile robot locomotion, parallel mechanism design, and intelligent motion planning. Tang's most notable contribution to date centers on the development of a novel wheel-foot hybrid parallel-leg walking robot, built upon an innovative 6-Universal-Prismatic-Universal-Revolute and 3-Prismatic (6UPUR + 3P) parallel mechanism architecture. This work addresses one of robotics' fundamental challenges: enabling robots to navigate complex environments through efficient, collision-free path planning. Tang's research bridges theoretical mechanism design with practical autonomous navigation, developing algorithms that enhance both path planning efficiency and obstacle avoidance capabilities for hybrid locomotion systems. By combining wheeled and legged movement paradigms within a parallel mechanism framework, this work pushes toward more versatile robots capable of adapting to diverse terrains and operational demands. Although Tang's publication record is still developing — with recent work accumulating 5 citations — the research addresses highly relevant problems in autonomous robotics and human-robot interaction environments. Tang represents a promising voice in next-generation robot mobility research, with a trajectory pointing toward meaningful contributions in intelligent robotic systems design and motion control engineering.
