About
Xiao Guan is pioneering the frontier of bio-inspired soft robotics, with a focus on creating intelligent, autonomous, and highly maneuverable small-scale machines. Their major contributions lie in integrating sensing and actuation within soft materials. Guan’s most cited work introduces an asymmetric multilayer hydrogel muscle that not only responds to external stimuli but provides real-time motion feedback—a critical step toward truly autonomous soft robots.
