V.M. Levdikov is a structural biologist whose work has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of the molecular machinery of *Bacillus anthracis*, the bacterium that causes anthrax. As part of the Structural Proteomics in Europe (SPINE) consortium, Levdikov focused on high-throughput crystallographic analysis of essential proteins from this Gram-positive pathogen, a critical step toward developing new therapeutic strategies.
