About
Dr. Tangyue Xue is pioneering the next generation of human–computer interaction through innovative optoelectronic sensors. Her research centers on wearable and ambient sensing technologies, with a particular focus on perovskite-based devices that operate seamlessly in everyday environments. Her most-cited work introduces a wearable perovskite shadow recognition sensor that enables nonobtrusive, intuitive communication—a key step toward the Internet of Everything. By leveraging the unique photoresponsive properties of perovskites, Dr. Xue has demonstrated how subtle changes in ambient light can be harnessed for gesture and shadow recognition without bulky hardware or direct user attention. This contribution, already garnering 14 citations since its 2022 publication, positions her at the forefront of senseless optoelectronics. Her approach promises to make human–computer interaction more effortless and natural, opening doors for applications in smart wearables, assistive technologies, and ambient intelligence. Dr. Xue’s work exemplifies how materials innovation can drive user-centered design, offering a compelling vision of technology that fades into the background while remaining powerfully responsive.
