Shujie Guo is a robotics researcher whose work centers on real-time operating systems, robot control, and telepresence technologies. In a foundational 2014 study, Guo developed a rigorous testing methodology for evaluating the real-time performance of RGMP-ROS, a specialized robot operating system. By dissecting the core functions of real-time kernels and identifying key latency factors, this work provided a critical benchmark for ensuring deterministic behavior in time-sensitive robotic applications. Building on this foundation, Guo’s 2021 project introduced a remote-control, real-time video interactive robot. This system integrated an ARM Cortex-A53 processor with a Linux environment and featured an innovative improved PID closed-loop speed algorithm for precise control of Mecanum wheels. The design enabled stable, low-latency teleoperation with live video feedback, demonstrating a practical synthesis of real-time control and networked interaction.
