About

Dr. Shengxin Xiang is pioneering the next generation of intelligent, flexible electronic systems that bridge the physical and digital worlds. Her research centers on advanced functional materials and their integration into soft robotics, wearable sensors, and human-machine interfaces. A key contribution is the development of highly sensitive and mechanically robust MXene textile sensors, which she embedded into an adaptive smart data glove featuring near-sensor edge intelligence—a work that has garnered 35 citations. Dr. Xiang has also addressed the brittleness of hybrid organic-inorganic molecular ferroelectrics by creating flexible mechano-optical dual-responsive composites for advanced anticounterfeiting and encryption (27 citations).
