Shameek Ganguly is a roboticist whose work bridges the gap between human intuition and machine precision, primarily in the domains of haptics, teleoperation, and contact-rich manipulation. His most influential contribution is the development of *Ocean One*, a bimanual underwater humanoid robot that serves as a robotic avatar for deep-sea exploration. This work, which has garnered over 240 citations, enables scientists to physically interact with fragile underwater environments—from coral reefs to shipwrecks—at depths inaccessible to human divers, fundamentally changing oceanic discovery.
