About
Samuel Ronayette is an astrophysicist specializing in the design and deployment of cutting-edge robotic observatories for time-domain astronomy. His primary research focuses on the rapid detection and characterization of transient phenomena, particularly gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which are among the most powerful cosmic explosions. Ronayette’s major contributions center on the COLIBRÍ telescope, a wide-field 1.3-meter robotic facility developed in collaboration between France and Mexico. This instrument serves as a critical ground-based counterpart to the Sino-French SVOM satellite, enabling rapid multi-wavelength follow-up of high-energy transients.
